racing stripes

A coworker was telling me about the gravel road by her house. Apparently, it’s part of a complex of dirt and gravel roads that dirt bike riders (the bikes with pedals, not motors) like to ride and race on.

Recently, there was a race through some wet weather. Some of the racers had brown racing stripes on the back of their shirts. This was because some bikes didn’t have rear fenders. It’s believed that the reduced weight would make a difference in who wins or loses.

The coworker had seen racing stripes before. Just not on shirts.
