It was bedtime. The dogs were settling down in their regular spots in the bedroom as I brushed my teeth in the bathroom.

I heard the unmistakable sound of a 100 pound dog jumping onto the bed. We don’t let our dogs on our furniture but Cooper likes to test this every now and again. I went back to the bedroom and saw Cooper standing the bed, looking back at me.

I tried to say “Off, off, off” but my mouth still had a toothbrush and a pile of toothpaste in it. Instead,  it sounded like “Arf, arf, arf” which may have carried the same meaning to Cooper. Cooper immediately jumped off the bed.

This surprised me since it usually requires a bigger effort to get him off anything. Maybe it was my barking and foaming at the mouth that did it.
