Treaties of Paris

Pam, Corwin, and I were talking about Puerto Rico and wondering about why it became a territory or possession or whatever of the U.S. A quick googling showed us that this was a result of the Spanish-American War and the Treaty of Paris.

I said “What? Another one?”

I knew about the one that ended the American Revolution, but we were surprised that a Treaty of Paris ended the Spanish-American War as well.

Later, I went to Wikipedia’s Treaty of Paris to see if there were others. There are a few dozen Treaties of Paris on that page. I didn’t bother counting.

There are also 8 or 9 Treaties of Versailles.
Or as I like to think of them: “Treaties Just down the Road from Paris”.
