A friend of ours runs a hardware store. Let’s call him Frank. Pam asked Frank where the brooms were. Frank replied with a question: “Long ride or short ride?”

Frank then said that he has to be careful to only use that joke with friends. He said that he’d tried it with a regular customer once and it didn’t end well. 

Pam’s thought was that if you’re the type of person to be offended by that kind of joke, then the answer is “long ride.”
