It was Pam’s birthday recently. I figured it would be hilarious to set our alarm to play Weird Al’s Happy Birthday at midnight on the morning of her birthday.

It didn’t take too much fiddling to set it up. I spent more time trying to test it since I didn’t want to hear “I’m sorry but I can’t find that song” or something like that in the middle of the night. Testing it was trickier since she was in the house with me at the time.

The magic moment arrived and I awoke to Weird Al’s singing about birthdays and the end of the world (it’s a complicated song). Pam woke up too and I said “Happy birthday!”

Later that day, over breakfast, I realized that I should have added the Beatles’ When I’m Sixty-Four.

Another missed opportunity, I guess.
