rscs

In the late 80s, I worked with mainframes using VM. VM used a utility called RSCS for managing printers. For <reasons>, we needed 2 different instances of RSCS so we called one of them RSCS and the other one was called RSCS2.

There came a time when we needed a third instance of RSCS. I figured that it would be hilarious to call the new instance RSCS_TOO.

That turned around and bit me in the ass real fast. Whenever tried to talk about RSCS instances, we couldn’t tell if the other person meant RSCS2 or RSCS_TOO.

That’s how I learned to never use homophones for names.
