A while back, I asked a coworker, Julio, about something. He offered to google that for me. I said “Thanks but I was only asking in case you already knew the answer. I’ll google it myself.”
Julio giggled a bit and said “You just reminded me of something. I’ve sent you a link in case you run into someone who doesn’t want to google stuff themselves.”
The link was http://letmegooglethatforyou.com/
The point of the site is to show someone how to use google:
- Browse to http://letmegooglethatforyou.com/ ( or https://lmgtfy.app/ if you don’t like typing that much)
- Type in whatever needs googling
- Click on “get link”
- Send the link to whoever didn’t want to google it themselves.
The link will walk you through how to google something.
I’ve always liked this since I first heard about it but never had the nerve to use it on anyone. Other than to say “Hey, look at this!”
I mean, it’s hard to not look like a real condescending Richard if you do send it to someone.
