One of the side effects from my second covid vaccine shot was a busted thumb.
Perhaps I should explain.
I was getting my second covid vaccine shot at a drive thru operation in an underground parking garage. Since I’m a southpaw, I prefer to get stabbed in my right shoulder. And since the nurse couldn’t stab my right shoulder without me twisting in ways that I don’t want to think about, I got out of the car.
I casually closed the car door but less casually closed the door on my right thumb. I checked and saw that the nail had already turned black. I gracefully composed myself and rolled up my sleeve to expose my right shoulder.
The nurse stabbed me and gave me a piece of paper to prove that I’ve been vaccinated for covid.
And that’s how covid busted my thumb.
