While I was in Florida, we discussed that u turns are legal in Florida (in most circumstances) and that right turns on a red light have right of way over u turns.

This seemed apropos a couple hours later when I needed to make a u turn. I made the u turn and was going into the right lane of what had been the opposite traffic. A car showed up out of nowhere to make a right turn. The other car slammed on his brakes before he got into my path. I slammed on my brakes before I got into his path.

We both sat there for a couple seconds and since my ass was hanging in the middle of the intersection, I moved on. As I drove off, I heard the car honking behind me.

The other car came up beside me, about a car length ahead of me, gave me the finger, and moved on.

Can’t say I blame him.
