Angela and Bryan were in their stateroom on a cruise ship 🛳. They were in the middle of changing for dinner. Bryan was fully dressed and Angela was about to put on her skirt.

The cruise director started to announce the evening activities over the public address system.

At the same time, there was a knock at the door. Bryan went to answer it.

Angela was concerned. She was standing in her underwear holding a dress. Her top was in the closet beside Bryan.

She reviewed possible hiding places. The bathroom would work if she was on the opposite end of the room and Bryan wasn’t standing in front of the door. The closet would have been a tighter fit and had the same problems as the bathroom.

Angela tried calling Bryan before it was too late: “Bryan!”

No effect. Bryan started to open the door.

Angela tried again: “BRYAN!”

The effect persisted in its absence. The door swung open and Angela found herself looking at a surprised stateroom attendant.

A bit more shrill this time: “BRYAN! I’M STANDING HERE NAKED!” Angela has a gift for hyperbole.

Bryan turned around and crossly informed Angela that he was trying to listen to announcements.

History does not record if Bryan questioned why Angela was wrapping a skirt around herself.
