Catherine Parr and Mad Yanni’s Dance

I was walking for a couple miles and listening to podcasts on my phone. As I finished the “Henry the Eighth” episodes of the History of England podcast I felt inspired to listen to Rick Wakeman’s “Six Wives of Henry VIII”..

I don’t often listen to Six Wives because even though I like bombastic prog rock, Wakeman is usually more bombastic than I prefer.

When the 6th track started, I got a surprise. The track definitely wasn’t from Six Wives. When I checked my phone, it said that it was playing “Catherine Parr” (Henry’s 6th wife) but I knew that was wrong. I knew that the song was one of my top 100 favorite tracks but I struggled to place it.

I eventually figured out that the track was really “Mad Yanni’s Dance” from Richard Wright’s “Wet Dream” (I know, I’ve heard the jokes) album.

What was more confusing is that I’ve been playing “Wet Dream” fairly often recently but I realized that I hadn’t heard “Mad Yanni’s Dance” in a while.

When I got home, I checked the music files on my computer and found that Mad Yanni’s Dance was still on there but its metadata said that it was Wakeman’s Catherine Parr. It was faster for me to reload the file from the CD than to fix it so I reloaded it.

The good news was that I had another excuse to listen to the rest of Wet Dream.
