Back when our kids were learning to read, someone pointed out to me that the alphabet song had the same tune as “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”. For no adequately explained reason, I thought that they meant “When You Wish Upon a Star”:

Sure, it lops off X, Y, and Z, but I kinda like it.

Anyway, since then, this is what goes through my head when anyone mentions the alphabet song.
