Pam and I were listening to Miss Shapiro from the 801 Live album. I got curious about the lyrics and looked them up.

We and just about everyone we know who knows the song had thought that the chorus included the line “disappearing cocoa forest slash and die”. Imagine our chagrin when we discovered that the line was actually “disappearing cocoa forest flash and die”. Boy did we feel stupid.

Our only solace is that we proved that the line really is “Smokey broads and smokey windows in the square.”
