After all of these years, I finally used Uber all by myself. Whenever I needed Uber before I was with Pam and we used her account.

This time, for reasons, I needed to get to work and I didn’t have a car. I installed the app, fiddled with it for a bit, and soon I saw that Gary was on his way to pick me up.

When Gary showed up, I got in the car and said “Hi Gary, I’m Steve.”

Gary said “Hi Steve, I’m Gary.”

We looked at each other, each of us thinking “Y’know, he looks just like…”

I said “Gary! You’re Gary!” and Gary said “Steve!”

Gary added “I’ve been expecting this to happen sometime. I semiretired a few months back. After 2 weeks, I got bored. Now, when I get bored, I can do this.”

This wasn’t how I expected my first Uber trip to go.
