cruising 2018: TSA

We were at the airport, trying to get to our gate after getting boarding passes and checking in luggage.

As we approached the security gate, we were asked if we had business class tickets or economy. Since we’re cheap, we had economy and for inadequately explained reasons, that meant that we had to traipse over 2 security gates.

After 50 yards, we got to the first security gate. It was closed and that explained why we had go over 2 gates.

But then we ran out of airport terminal. We started back the way that we came but behind the ticketing gates that we passed before.

We found another closed security gate and I started thinking dark thoughts about the security folks who’d sent us through this labyrinth. It didn’t help that this part of the airport didn’t use any air conditioning. I was pretty hot and sweaty and frustrated.

I imagined finally getting to the gate. I imagined shouting “Here’s my <naughty word> ID and here’s my <different naughty word> carry-on!” as I threw stuff at the security folks.

I also imagined getting locked up in one of the less pleasant prisons.

Because of my imagination, I was actually quite polite when I got to the working security gate.
