One of my favorite tunes is Diamond Head by Phil Manzanera, especially the live version on the “801 Live” album. It’s an instrumental piece that I keep coming back to since the late seventies.
When we started planning a trip to Hawaii, I thought it’d be cool to see Diamond Head’s” namesake, a dormant volcano crater. The song has also been stuck in my head for the last few weeks but that’s a good thing.
When we got to our hotel in Honolulu, I discovered that Diamond Head was just a few miles to our east. The song started to play more often in my head.
On our last day in Honolulu, Pam and I started walking toward the crater. I’d gotten it into my head that I’d like a picture of the crater with the sun behind it.
I got a few pictures but I’m not that happy with them. It was a fun walk anyway.

Oh yeah, if you’re curious, this should link to the song: Diamond Head
