I was in a meeting where they were discussing some technologies that I was unfamiliar with. At one point they mentioned Kafka.

I said “What? Are we gonna turn folks into giant cockroaches?”

That fell pretty flat. Apparently, no one else has read Kafka’s Metamorphosis.

If you’re interested, and I’d be surprised if you were, Kafka is the name of a distributed messaging thingy by Apache as well as a really weird novelist. (sorry Franz)
