A few days ago, Pam was having some grief with her phone. The IDs for her messages were just showing up as phone numbers instead of names from her contacts.

Around lunchtime, she received a text message from Lillie as part of a group chat inviting us to a party that night. The other participants of the chat just showed up as phone numbers. Pam figured that this was because of her phone’s issues.

Pam replied that we’d be there and that we’d bring stuff.

When we showed up, Thomas answered the door looking somewhat surprised. Thomas let us in. He called to Lillie and she joined Thomas in looking surprised. Lillie asked if maybe there’d been some confusion.

Pam showed Lillie the message that she’d gotten. Lillie figured it out. She’d meant to invite another friend named Pam.

Lillie and Thomas invited us to join the party anyway since we were there and after some minimal cajoling we accepted.

Lillie then hurriedly called the Pam who she’d meant to invite.

Luckily for us, Lillie and Thomas knew some great people and we had a great time.
