A few weeks back, Pam and I were reviewing waltz steps with our dance instructor, Patty. I played one of my favorite waltz tunes: The Fool by The Silvertone Philharmonic. When we stopped dancing, Patty said, “That’s beautiful.”
I told Patty how I’d heard the music at a dance studio and immediately fell in love with it. I wrote down the information about it and set about what became a yearlong search for a copy. Most music sites said that the music didn’t exist. When I did find a site that had information about the music, the site said that it wasn’t available. Some sites even were able to play a 30 sample which confirmed that I’d found the right song but it was all the more tantalizing because I couldn’t buy it. After more than a year of searching, I found a German music site that would sell me a copy for 2 euros.
Pam then told me that Patty meant that our dancing was beautiful, not the music.
Oh.
I guess I couldn’t take a compliment.
