Several months ago, Pam got tickets for us to go see Norm MacDonald’s show in Royal Oak. Since it was scheduled for the eve of our anniversary, we decided to go to the Cheesecake Factory as well and make a date of it.
Pam and I have different ideas about how long it takes to do things. I’m often too cautious and Pam often isn’t cautious enough. I was worried that leaving at 4:00pm wouldn’t leave enough time for dinner and the show at 8:00pm. I kept my own counsel since we’re usually both wrong about these things.
I relaxed with my head back, my eyes closed, saying “ommmmmmmmmmm”. I really shouldn’t do this while driving.
We got to the Cheesecake Factory at 6:00pm. Then we were told that they could seat us at 7:10. I wasn’t too worried. If it was a choice between cheesecake and a show, then I’ll take the cheesecake. “Oh, well” I thought. “I guess we’ll be a little late for the show.”
Dinner was good and dessert was great. The service was slow though. We left the restaurant after 8:30. We figured that by the time we finished driving that we’d miss more than half of the show. We drove home with memories of cheesecake.
