My Chinese Irish Bar Story

In August of 2010, I posted this on Facebook:

“I was sitting in an Irish bar in downtown Guangzhou with Eric, a co-worker. A little Asian man came into the bar, walked directly up me and berated me in what was probably an Asian language. Our waitress chased him out and apologized, saying that the man was upset over some difficulties with an American visa. While it’s true that I can be a real heartless bastard, I felt that this was undeserved. <sigh>”

This got a few comments but most were about the fact that there was an Irish bar in China.

I guess most folks expect to get harassed about visa issues by complete strangers. Or is it that they expect this kind of thing to happen to me?
