Weird Al’s “White & Nerdy” pretty much fits me:
- MC Escher
- Earl Grey tea
- Stephen Hawking in my library
- Minesweeper rock star
- I enjoy studying math
- I’m adept a number of computer languages
- I know a lot of trivia
- I never thought that it was hard to decide if Kirk was better than Picard.
I mean it can’t be a serious question. Kirk isn’t even in the running. - I wasn’t in the AV club.
But I was really jealous of those guys. - …
There are some exceptions:
- I didn’t go to MIT
- I never sat thru D&D games
- No action figures
- I only know pi to 5 decimals
- No orthodontial work
- You’ll never see me at a renaissance fair
Corwin tells me that he and Morgan have discussed that I’ve gotten geekier over the years.
He cites things like I’m reading more comic books these days and I’m watching Doctor Who.
I think that it’s more that I had a latent geekiness that didn’t have a outlet.
I mean, I couldn’t find a decent starting point for most comic series and I couldn’t risk starting in the middle. What if I couldn’t find the next issue?
I had the same problem with Doctor Who.
I recently bought a t-shirt with a picture of the DeLorean from “Back to the Future” crashing the TARDIS.
Pam says that now I’m trying to be geeky.
I wasn’t.
But, dammit, that shirt is so cool.
