We’ve been using iPods for a while now.
One of its features is to generate a playlist based on a given song.
It looks up the song in some database somewhere and compares it with the songs in the rest of your collection.
From this, it presents a list of songs that are most similar to the song that you started with.
This is called Genius.
Recently, we created a Genius list based on a song called “No Air” by a young lady named Jordin Sparks.
It’s a song about how she feels that she cannot breath when her beloved is away.
The very first song that Genius picked to go with this song was by Lady Gaga.
Apparently, she likes it rough.
Genius!
Addendum:
I told this tale to my son and his wife.
His response was “I’m not worried about Genius. I’m more concerned about why you have either one of those songs”
